Solar 21 is delighted to sponsor Hull RUFC in this, its 25th anniversary season.Hull plays in National League 3 North which is made up of the fourteen teams from across northern England. It is the highest regional rugby union league in the north of England. Hull RUFC’s home is the Ferens Ground.Hull RUFC was formed in 1992 as a result of a merger between Old Hymerians RUFC and Hull & East Riding RUFC. Hull RUFC initially played at the Old Hymerian’s ground, Haworth Park. The first club captain was Zimbabwean international fly-half David Walters. The first coach was former England international prop Paul Huntsman. Coaches down the years have included former players at national level such as Kiwi back-rower Chris Moore and Great Britain full-back George Fairbairn.Speaking about the sponsorship, Solar 21 CEO Michael Bradley said, “Solar 21 is delighted to support Hull RUFC in this significant year in its short history. Our association with the club strengthens our ties with the Humber area, where a number of our renewable energy projects are located. We wish coach Gary Pearce and the entire team and backroom staff every success in the coming season.”
