As a company, we believe in doing good beyond our environmental mission. For this reason, we’re committed to supporting a wide range of charities and community initiatives, particularly those which have a special resonance in the Solar 21 story. Solar 21 co-founders, Michael and Andrew Bradley, spent their earliest years on Achill Island:
“We grew up on Achill Island, where our mother Colette, ran the local village shop in Dooagh. Working there is where we developed the entrepreneurial spirit that fuels the company’s growth. As the company has grown, we’ve remained connected to the local community in Achill and have supported several great causes.”
Achill sheepdog neutering and microchipping scheme:We’re delighted to be supporting the passionate work of Mary Keane of West Vets. Achill Island is home to many sheepdogs and collies who need to be neutered and microchipped. Solar 21 is proud to be subsidising a scheme to provide these essential veterinary services.
Achill musical and dramatic society:We’re also proud to be supporting the Achill musical and dramatic society. Aside from putting on a great show, the society helps combat rural social isolation. More than 50 local people will be involved from cast and crew to front of house attendants and committee members. They are the best of what Achill has to offer and we’re proud to be supporting them.
Lastly, we’re sponsoring a tee box in the Achill Island Golf Club. Hopefully the colourful Solar 21 logo won’t be too distracting as golfers attempt to take aim!
