As the world continues to grapple with the Covid 19 pandemic, we wanted to give you an update on how the Solar 21 team and projects are adapting to meet these challenging times.

Energy and Waste Processing Industries Classed as Essential

The UK government has classified those working in the energy, recycling and waste sectors including the biomass supply chain as “key workers” which allows them to continue doing their vital work throughout the coronavirus pandemic. Waste collection workers are the second most important human shield to coronavirus, after health workers. Waste collection and processing will continue throughout this challenging time when many other workers are forced to stay home.

The UK government has met with representatives of with the waste industry and local authorities to ensure that collection and disposal services continue to operate. The waste and energy sectors are remarkably resilient industries, even during a lockdown or precession. No matter what happens, waste needs to be collected from homes and businesses. These essential industries allow the rest of society to function even in challenging times.

Work is continuing on our plants in the UK. We do not envisage that this short-term disruption will have a significant impact on developments and are monitoring the situation and liaising closely with our onsite staff, contractors and suppliers. For a more detailed update, please contact your broker.

Our team is based across Ireland, the UK and Italy, which means that we’re accustomed to working remotely.
